ENTER 2020

One of the fastest half-marathons in the UK circuit, this single-loop course regularly sees runners finishing in under 70 minutes. This makes it a particularly popular event in the calendar for club runners. However, although it claims to be a flat course, there are a couple of motorway bridges which are challenging, so it’s not all plain-sailing. The entry price is also one of the most affordable, making the event welcome to all runners. Overall, the race finds the balance between a small local event, and a well-organised professional race.

What do the racers say?

Catherine J: My first half marathon and it could not have been better organised. everything was set up to make the pre race time relaxed and just let each runner get ready in their own way. The race itself was not too hard, a good mix of hills and flat running away from traffic, the supporters were brilliant and I could not have done it without their support all the way round. Post race just as organised. Lovely to have my official time emailed to me along with the official photos. a really memorable day.

Helen F: A good course & enjoyable run. Thank you to all the marshals & a massive thank you to the 2hr 15 pacers for all your encouragement & helping me achieve a new PB.

Riccardo B: This was my first official 1/2 marathon and I really enjoyed it. The weather made such a difference. When the sun shines everyone is happy. Will definitely do this one again.

On their success at The Challenge Awards, Racesolutions said: “What a race Wokingham Half Marathon is, we took over the race organisation this year and while we were aware it was quick, 8 runners inside 1.06 proved how quick! We are really pleased with the win and we have great plans for this race, roll on 2020.”

Still going strong after 35 years, it’s sure to improve even more over the next 35.

And the runners up...

2nd Place: Weybridge 10k - By AAT Events

There is some stunning scenery to take in during this road race, which starts in the historic town of Weybridge and follows the banks of the Thames. The event is known for its sense of fun, and there’s even a DJ at the finish line so you can celebrate your achievement with a dance.

3rd Place: The Maverick Silva Dark Oxfordshire - By Maverick Race

For keen trail runners, this is a step up in adrenaline. Running in the darkness with only a headlight or the moon and stars to guide you sharpens the senses to your surroundings and makes for an incredible experience. This race, in the Chiltern Hills, is a perfect introduction to night running, and there are three distances on offer.
